In their last contest against one another, Kobe Bryant one-upped LeBron James
Kobe Bryant has had quite a memorable career. While his last season hasn’t been going as planned, Kobe is making most of the opportunity he has been given. LeBron James is considered the new Kobe. These two greats facing off used to be a treat for all basketball fans. While it’s not as competitive anymore, it’s still something special to witness. It looks like Kobe still has a few tricks left up his sleeve.
Against the Cavaliers tonight, Kobe decided to go old school on LeBron. The Black Mamba faked-out LeBron and put it to the hoop. If you noticed, the Los Angeles crowd game Kobe a huge ovation after.
While the Lakers appear to be going nowhere this season, it is great to see that they can still provide some highlights for fans. Kobe has been around the younger generation of NBA players for quite some time. In an interview covered by Cleveland.com, the former MVP talked about the future of the NBA. The 37-year old Lakers legend also discussed how young LeBron actually is, even though he’s dominated the league for quite a while. Kobe stated:
"“To me LeBron is still young. I can’t fathom this is his 13th season and the generations that come after him – the (Kevin) Durant generations, the (Stephen) Curry generations. There are so many generations in between that. It’s going to be fun for me to be around.”"
That is some high praise from a living legend. After their last matchup together tonight, I’m sure fans will miss the classic Kobe-LeBron wars. The basketball world had a good run with these epic battles. Maybe the future will provide us with more classic encounters.
