Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Xavier Musketeers
The Marquette Golden Eagles needed far more effort than they would’ve hoped in the first round of the 2016 Big East Tournament to advance. Now they are going to need to step it up as their task gets taller in the quarterfinals with the Xavier Musketeers awaiting them in Madison Square Garden on Thursday for more Big East Tournament action.

Trevon Bluiett has been the star for the No. 5 nationally ranked Musketeers this season, but he won’t be able to go it alone in the Big East Tournament. Xavier will need Myles Davis, Edmond Sumner, and James Farr to all recognize the moment and step up in this pivotal juncture if they want to survive. For Marquette, freshman Henry Ellenson shined in his first taste of Big East Tournament action on Wednesday, but the likes of Luke Fischer, Duane Wilson, and Haanif Cheatham have to rise to the occasion around him if the Golden Eagles are to pull off the upset.
