Antonio Cromartie responded to a tweet from one former Dallas Cowboys star letting it be known he wants to join the team.

The NFL free agency period is up and running with plenty of stars switching teams and seeing more money enter their bank accounts. One of the top positions seeing their average contract amount go up is defensive back, where players like Sean Smith and Janoris Jenkins went out and got paid by their new teams (the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants, respectively).

One veteran at that position may not get the same contract amount, but Cromartie has made it clear he is not ready to hang up his cleats. The ten-year veteran was recently let go by the New York Jets and is free to sign with a new team. Thanks to social media, we know which squad Cro wants to join.

On Twitter, Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin expressed his desire for the Cowboys, the team he spent his entire career playing for, to sign a defensive back before it’s too late. Cromartie responded and said he would love to put a star on the side of his helmet:

Last season was the first since Cromartie’s rookie year that the defensive back didn’t have an interception, breaking an eight-year streak of having multiple picks over the course of a year. Cromartie was taken in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers after a stellar college career at Florida State.
