The New England Patriots are giving Tom Brady more security and a giant bonus to stay in Foxboro as their quarterback.
While some NFL teams were throwing money around to back up quarterbacks like it was going out of style during the first day of the NFL free agency period, the New England Patriots addressed their own quarterback issues for the future by giving plenty of money to one signal caller who has proven himself over the last decade and a half.
The Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady officially inked a contract extension that will keep the four-time Super Bowl champion with the team for two more seasons than his original contract and pay him handsomely for it:

Brady’s original contract would have made him a free agent following the 2017 season. Now, Brady will finish off this decade as a member of the only team he has played for, drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft (you know, that pick ESPN keeps telling us about every year they televise the Draft).
In 2015, Tom Brady threw for over 4,700 yards and had 36 touchdown passes while leading the Patriots to their fifth straight appearance in the AFC Championship Game, where they would lose to eventual Super Bowl champion Denver. If Brady does play through the life of this extension, he will be a member of the Patriots until the age of 42.
