The brother of Florida State star running back Dalvin Cook has committed to the ‘Noles with three years of high school still to play.

Just a month ago, thousands of the top high school football players in the country signed their scholarship deals with some of the top college football programs across the country. On Friday, one of the top gridiron stars from the state of Florida followed their lead and announced his college choice — even before he has finished his freshman year of school.

James Cook, a running back who led Miami Central to a state championship this past season, has announced that he will attend Florida State when he can sign with the Seminoles as part of their 2019 recruiting class. If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the younger brother of current Florida State star running back Dalvin Cook, who set the school’s single season rushing record in 2015 and is already among the favorites to win the 2016 Heisman Trophy.

James posted a picture of his older brother on his Twitter account when announcing that he would someday take Dalvin’s spot in the Seminoles’ backfield:

Florida State had one of the top recruiting classes during the 2016 period, ranked in the top three by all major services and ESPN. Already, their 2017 class is projected to also be in the top five as well. James Cook is expected to be a five-star recruit when he is first ranked by services starting with his sophomore year in high school.
