The Miami Heat are one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 5-of-6 and 8-of-11. Miami has soared into fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a realistic shot of jumping the Boston Celtics for the No. 3 seed by the time playoffs roll around. It looks like Erik Spoelstra and the Heat are doing just fine without LeBron James after all.

Bad news on the Heat front is concerning the health of Chris Bosh. Blood clots have forced him to miss extended time this season and he said that he no longer has them, but a return this season is in doubt. Hopefully, this doesn’t cause the valuable big man to retire. Dwyane Wade is doing just fine without him, putting up 19.3 points and 4.8 assists per game.

The Chicago Bulls have been trending in the wrong direction for some time now and it might have something to do with the absence of Jimmy Butler. Chicago has lost 5-of-7 games and have gone from a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference at the beginning of the year to the ninth team in the standings, right behind the Detroit Pistons.

Although Butler might be returning soon, as he’s getting a second opinion on his knee, it’ll be up to Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol to ensure the Bulls make the postseason. Rose is averaging 16.6 points and 4.9 assists per game, nearly returning to healthy form, while Gasol is putting up 17.0 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest.
