Memphis Tigers vs Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Josh Pastner might be one of the up-and-coming coaches in college basketball at the age of 38, but ever since the move to the AAC from Conference-USA, his Memphis Tigers have struggled. Memphis is now in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year after Pastner led the Tigers to four straight from 2010-14.

The 17-14 record for Memphis might be a bit disappointing, but this was supposed to be another rebuilding season for the Tigers. The team’s leading scorer is a freshman, though, which leaves hope for the future. Dedric Lawson leads the team with 15.4 points and 9.2 boards while senior Shaq Goodwin is second with 15.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Tulsa needs a nice run in the AAC Tournament in order to make the Big Dance, but the Golden Hurricane believe they can get it done. Sitting at 20-10 through the regular season, Tulsa finished the conference campaign 12-6 and just two games back of first-place Temple. Beating Memphis is a must if the Golden Hurricane want to have a shot at dancing.
Senior guard James Woodard needs to be on his ‘A’ game if Tulsa expects to take down a pesky Memphis team Friday. He leads the team in scoring with 15.8 points and is second in rebounding with 5.2 boards per contest. Shaquille Harrison is another name to watch for as he leads the team in rebounding with 5.5 per game and is second in scoring with 14.8 points.
