Michael Beasley is back in the NBA with the Rockets and finding success, at least in terms of crossing up Jonas Jerebko

A combination of folk-hero and headache, Michael Beasley is back in the NBA after spending the first three-quarters of the season playing in the Chinese Basketball Association—a league where he was the MVP this year. Now he’s on the Houston Rockets and trying to help one of the league’s biggest train wrecks find their way into the playoffs down the stretch.

On Friday against the Boston Celtics, Beasley was getting minutes for Houston early in the fourth quarter and actually looked quite good. In addition to showing aggressiveness and good activity in most facets of the game, Beasley also unleashed a nasty crossover on Jonas Jerebko that left the Celtics big man stumbling and allowed Beas to knock down an open jumper:

Michael Beasley back!

There has never been a question of just raw talent when it comes to Michael Beasley as he has all of the tools to be a successful player in the NBA. The key with Beasley has always been his level of commitment and his focus when he’s on the floor, the lacking of both leading to him playing in China and not in the NBA to start the season.

It may seem like an odd fit to have Beasley on a team with massive chemistry issues, but he seems to be carving out a role thus far and looks like he might actually be an asset for Houston down the stretch. Then again, it’s Michael Beasley and things could turn for the worst/comical at any moment.
