Miko Grimes, who has drawn plenty of heat for her outspoken comments while husband Brent played for the Miami Dolphins, is taking shots after he signed with Tampa Bay.

For anyone who has been around the Miami Dolphins over the last three seasons, it’s not a secret that the play of cornerback Brent Grimes on the field was sometimes overshadowed by the antics and comments of his wife, Miko, off of it. From her tweets criticizing the team’s play to comments made in public and on her one-time radio show, Mrs. Grimes tended to get more exposure than Mr. Grimes.

As his play went downhill on the field during the 2015 season, it also wasn’t a shock that Grimes’ time with the Miami Dolphins was becoming less and less. When Miko made comments criticizing the play of quarterback Ryan Tannehill that followed her arrest outside of Sun Life Stadium following a confrontation with police, it was a matter of time before Brent was shown the door.

That happened this week, after the team acquired cornerback Byron Maxwell from the Philadelphia  Eagles and made Grimes no longer needed. He wasn’t unemployed for long, signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Miko also didn’t keep her mouth shut for long, posting a message through Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel (before it was deleted), reading as follows:

"the Bucs are a REAL organization, being ran PROPERLY, unlike that dumpster fire in the AFC East we just left! they wouldnt DARE ask me to delete my twitter! i deleted my twitter bc i didn’t want the twitter gangsters and thumb thugs to have anyone to @ when they found out the Bucs (and multiple other teams) made them all look STUPID! who doesnt want a pro bowl corner thats doing s— NO OTHER CORNER IN THE LEAGUE CAN DO! men lie! women lie! stats lie! the media lies! u know whats undefeated? FILM!!! we are HAPPY and i dont feel like sharing it with anyone just yet. ill be back very soon and ill be the same supportive, dedicated, truthful b—- i was before i left!"

While not saying that the Miami Dolphins are the most well run organization in the league, the Grimes’ family isn’t exactly going to the Seattle Seahawks or the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition, if Grimes was still doing stuff that “no other corner in the league can do,” he would have gotten more attention and signed with someone better than the worst team in the NFC South.

Hopefully, Grimes will go finish his career in Tampa being burnt by the divisional quarterbacks he faces (Matt Ryan, Cam Newton and Drew Brees) and Miko will keep quiet more often and keep from looking silly so much.
