According to Adam Schefter, free agent cornerback Prince Amukamara will be signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Free Agency has become synonymous with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason. With plenty of money to spend, the Jaguars have been adding plenty of names to a list of talented young players on their roster. On Friday afternoon, the team added another key free agent to their talent pool.

According to Adam Schefter, the Jaguars will be signing free agent cornerback Prince Amukamara on a one-year deal. Ever since entering the league, Amukamara has been one of the more talented cornerbacks, but he’s been plagued by injuries in his career.

A one-year deal is surprising considering that he had many suitors, but it could be a deal for him to prove himself that he can remain healthy, which would allow him to line himself up for another big payday next free agency period. The Jaguars are serious about taking that next step in contending in the AFC South and upgrading with more pieces to a growing secondary was in their plans.

They’ve addressed some major needs on defense already this free agency period and can now look forward to the draft to fill out the remaining needs on the roster.
