The UConn Huskies forced a fourth overtime against the Cincinnati Bearcats thanks to a miracle three-quarter court shot
With just a second left on the clock in the third overtime period, the UConn Huskies looked done for in the quarterfinals of the 2016 AAC Tournament against the Cincinnati Bearcats as Cincy’s Kevin Johnson knocked down a three to go up by a triple. That’s when Jalen Adams answered the prayers of every UConn fan with an absolute miracle.
With under a second left on the clock after the made Cincinnati three, UConn inbounded the ball to Adams who picked the ball up from the opposite free throw line and just hoisted up a prayer. Because it’s UConn in the conference tournament and crazy things always happen, Adams’ and the Huskies’ prayer was answered as the shot fell through the net:
March Madness might not have officially begun just yet, but Jalen Adams and UConn definitely just gave everyone a preview.
That’s truly one of the most remarkable shots that college basketball fans are going to see this year. Not only does that shot not fall 99 times out of 100, but throw in the fact that it happened to force a fourth overtime and it’s only made all the more crazy.
This is what March is all about in college hoops and fans should thank UConn for getting the madness truly underway.
