A look at the updated 2016 AAC Tournament bracket after the two first round games

The final conference tournament to get underway was the 2016 AAC Tournament, which saw a pair of first round games take place on Thursday afternoon. Now those two first round games, which essentially serve as play-in games, are in the books and the quarterfinals of the AAC Tournament lie ahead on Friday.

The South Florida Bulls and the East Carolina Pirates kicked off the action in the AAC Tournament on Thursday in a game that went down to the wire. However, it was Angel Nunez for the Bulls that ultimately led the way and propelled them to a big victory and berth in the quarterfinals.

In the second first-round game in the AAC Tournament, the bottom-seeded Tulane Green Wave did battle with the UCF Knights. Despite a big-time performance from UCF’s A.J. Davis and a furious comeback in the second half by the Knights, the Green Wave ultimately stood tall when it was all said and done to pull an upset in the first round and advance to the quarterfinals.
