A look at the updated 2016 ACC Tournament bracket after the four quarterfinal matchups

The day got started with the top-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels taking the floor against the Pittsburgh Panthers and, though Pitt put up a fight early on, the Heels pulled away for a large victory when it was all said and done. The same can’t be said for the Heels’ rivals in the Duke Blue Devils who blew a big lead in their quarterfinals matchup and lost in overtime to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, leaving the Tar Heels and Irish to face off in the ACC Tournament semifinals.
In the two night games in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, the No. 2 seeded Virginia Cavaliers easily dispatched the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but the No. 3 seeded Miami Hurricanes had a bit more trouble in their matchup with the Virginia Tech Hokies. However, the Hurricanes were able to push through and advance.
