No. 18 Maryland Terrapins vs No. 2 Michigan State Spartans
Maryland finished the regular season on quite the sour note, losing four of six games and going from 10-2 in the Big Ten as a favorite to win the conference title to just 12-6 in a matter of weeks. The Terrapins are still one of the deepest and most talented teams out there, though, and could be a threat to head to the Final Four before the season is over.

Melo Trimble leads the way for the Terrapins as the sophomore guard has seen his scoring go down this season, but he’s become a better overall player. He’s averaging 14.4 points and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 43 percent from the field. Big freshman Diamond Stone is a beast in the post, averaging 12.7 points and 5.4 boards while shooting 56 percent from the field.
Michigan State might just be the top team in college basketball right now — maybe outside of Kansas. The Spartans are a tough team to beat and every team that has crossed their path in the past month has found that out the hard way. Michigan State is 27-5 on the season after a third win over Ohio State in 18 days on Friday and the Spartans have won 21 of those games by double-digits.
Denzel Valentine is a national player of the year finalist, along with Buddy Hield, and his performance against the Buckeyes proved that. He finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Valentine is averaging 19.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists while shooting 45 percent from three-point range this year. Watch out for the sharp-shooting Bryn Forbes and the hustling Matt Costello, though.
