This shot is one of the reasons why Denzel Valentine is considered one of the best in college basketball

For most of the 2015-16 college basketball season, Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine has been considered one of the best players in the country, and he even still has a shot at winning Player of the Year despite missing some time with a knee injury back in December. Time and time again this year, he has proven why he’s the best.

Sunday afternoon on one of the biggest stages of the season, he showed us all again.

With time running down in the Big Ten Tournament final against Purdue, Valentine hit this absolutely insane double pump jump shot that only the best of the best could really hit.

The amount of concentration it takes to hit that shot cannot be understated. To have to defenders in your face to begin with and then one of them goes flying but you still hit the shot after the double pump? That’s just not something a normal basketball player could pull off.

But, again, that’s why he’s recognized as one of the best in the nation. There’s no doubt we’ll see more of these as Michigan State makes their NCAA Tournament run.
