New York Knicks vs Los Angeles Lakers
It looked as if the New York Knicks were going to be the surprise team in the Eastern Conference this season, beginning the year 22-22 and flirting with one of the last spots in the playoff race. However, since that time, the Knicks are just 5-18 and look as bad as any in the league, even firing head coach Derek Fisher in the process. Changes need to happen for this organization.

One major bright spot has been rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis. The big man was booed on draft day when his name was called by Knicks fans, but they have been singing his praises ever since. Porzingis is averaging 14.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Carmelo Anthony, to no one’s surprise, leads the team with 21.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
Going from one of the worst teams in the East to the bottom-dweller in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t exactly giving Kobe Bryant a proper sendoff in his final season. Los Angeles is just 14-52 and at the very bottom of the conference standings, posting the second-worst record in all the NBA this season thus far.
Bryant isn’t exactly having his best season as a pro, but he’s been no slouch, either. The aging NBA star leads the Lakers with 16.9 points to go along with 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. The Lakers are so young that the future is scary for the rest of the league. With guys like D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, this team is built for the long run.
