Kansas earned the No. 1 seed in the South Region and it comes as no surprise. The Jayhawks are arguably the top team in college basketball, earning a one seed is basically no shock here. Kansas will be a Final Four favorite throughout March and could be the front-runner for national title. The Jayhawks will face Austin Peay in the first round.

The road won’t be easy for the Jayhawks as they’ll have to play the winner of Connecticut as the No. 9 seed and No. 8 Colorado.
Maryland earned the No. 5 seed and many would argue they’re a top-two or three team in the Big Ten. They finished the season 25-8 and boast several top NBA prospects, including Melo Trimble and Diamond Stone.
Miami earned the No. 3 seed, playing No. 14 Buffalo from the MAC. The Hurricanes could be a huge sleeper in this bracket, so Kansas has anything but an easy road.
The No. 4 seed was Cal who had a ton of young talent and the Golden Bears will face No. 13 Hawaii who is 27-5 this season. This has upset written all over it.
Villanova was going to be a No. 1 seed before its loss in the Big East Tournament title, but earned the No. 2 seed in the bracket. If they beat UNC Asheville, the Wildcats will have to play the winner of No. 7 Iowa, a tough team to play, and No. 10 Temple.
Arizona is the sixth seed, facing the winner of a play-in between Vanderbilt and Wichita State. What a South Region this is.
This bracket is loaded with underrated matchups.
