NIT 2016: Printable Bracket

A look at the field and a printable bracket for the 2016 NIT Championship

March Madness is finally here and, while the 68 teams who will be chasing a national title in the 2016 NCAA Tournament have been set, many teams who didn’t make it to the Big Dance will still have something to play for. In fact, 32 teams will have the chance to win a tournament of their own as they do battle in the 2016 NIT Championship.

Ben Simmons and the LSU Tigers made waves soon after the Selection Sunday show as they announced that they would end their season and decline an invitation to the 2016 NIT Championship.

As for the teams that did accept their bids, the Monmouth Hawks, St. Bonaventure Bonnies, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Valparaiso Crusaders were all awarded No. 1 seeds for the NIT. Other notable teams that will be playing in the NIT are the Virginia Tech Hokies, Saint Mary’s Gaels, Georgia Bulldogs, Monmouth Hawks, Florida Gators, and many others that had cases to be made to make it into the NCAA Tournament or that just had great regular seasons.

That’s what the 2016 NIT field and bracket look like and, though these teams won’t be competing for a national championship, the action should be fantastic to watch this season.
