Chelsea’s forward charged with improper conduct after being sent off in the FA Cup quarter-final against Everton.
As if Chelsea’s season couldn’t get any worse, it seems their star forward could be in further trouble after being sent of in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss against Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
After being shown a second yellow card, Diego Costa made potentially offensive gestures towards the Goodison Park crowd on his way off the field. His behavior after receiving his second yellow card, as well as his gestures towards the crowd, have led the FA to charge him with improper conduct.

Diego Costa has until Wednesday, March 16th, to respond to the FA concerning his gestures to the fans. He also has until Thursday, March 17th, to respond to the FA in relation to what he did after his second yellow card.
Costa’s reaction to receiving a second yellow card was highly questionable. It looks as if he tries to bite Gareth Barry, although Barry later denied that Costa bit him. Even so, Costa got in Barry’s face and pushed him back with his forehead.
Costa’s reputation for dirty play extends back to his time at Atletico Madrid, and he has been handed retrospective bans by the FA twice in the past.
