J.R. Smith has found himself alone on the break with LeBron James trailing him twice in the last three games now, and each time he’s managed to get himself an assist despite throwing an atrocious lob. The first instance was this way-too-high off-the-backboard pass against the Lakers on Thursday. LeBron was able to gather it and flush it anyway, because LeBron.

Tonight against the Jazz, Smith outdid himself by throwing an even worse lob. Still, it resulted in a dime thanks to the King’s #hops (via @ericbuenning):

This brings back fond memories of the Flying Death Machine Miami Heat…if the Flying Death Machine Heat were awful at throwing lobs. To be fair to J.R., passing isn’t exactly his forte.
