The Broncos have reportedly told the 49ers they believe Colin Kaepernick is worth a fourth round pick.

After losing quarterback Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans, the Denver Broncos have honed in on several quarterbacks to replace him. One of those options is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Denver has reportedly told San Francisco they believe that Kaepernick is worth a fourth round pick in a trade.

The Broncos currently don’t have a regular fourth round pick in 2016 because they traded it for center Gino Gradkowski. They do, however, have a compensatory fourth round pick and a compensatory third round pick. A potential trade could still be worked out because the Broncos have their 2017 fourth round pick as well as the comp pick at the end of the fourth round. If the 49ers would like a non-compensatory fourth round pick this season, perhaps Denver would be willing to send one of their 2016 third round picks, with San Francisco adding a draft pick.

Colin Kaepernick would be an intriguing option for the Broncos. He certainly has talent and perhaps a change of scenery would do him well. Denver has Mark Sanchez as a security blanket. With the quarterback market being so limited, Denver might not have much of a choice.
