Are the New England Patriots bracing themselves to lose Tom Brady to that DefalteGate suspension?
When Tom Brady was suspended for the first four-games of the 2015 NFL season, no one really expected him to serve it out. As it turned out, he didn’t miss a single game due to suspension last year, but wasn’t able to exact revenge on the league by winning a second-straight Super Bowl. Now that a year has passed, you’d think the DeflateGate scandal from the early 2015 would be dead by the middle of 2016 — but this is the NFL and they don’t let anything go.
According to speculation from the Boston Globe, the Patriots seem to be bracing themselves to be without Brady for four games this season.
"The Patriots sure seem like a team that is bracing for Brady to lose the appeal and serve his four-game suspension. We applaud the Patriots’ attempt at transparency, but if they’re so passionate about their innocence and setting the record straight, it’s time to stop barking and take the NFL to court"
The reasons given for this opinion circle around the fact that the pats dropped Brady’s base salary recently and a recent report that the team released that again attacked the Wells Report on Deflategate.
Of course, we won’t know anything until the appeals process takes place later this year, but it’s very possible that the Patriots might just accept a suspension for Brady and be done with all of this. Then again, by losing the appeal to the suspension, the Pats aren’t accepting anything so much as they are forced to deal with something they simply put off for a year.
