President Obama had plenty of good things to say about Stephen Curry, the reigning NBA MVP for the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

Ever since Michael Jordan hung up his sneakers for good following the 2002-03 season, the debate has raged on about who is the best player in the game. From Shaq to Kobe to LeBron, there have been plenty of top candidates who could stake a claim at that title.

Over the past few seasons, the title has lived in the Bay Area of California with Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. The reigning league MVP has done nothing to diminish those claims, as he will probably bring home a second award this season as the Warriors continue their push to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ record for wins in a regular season (72).

Curry has plenty of fans not just in Oakland and San Francisco, but across the country. You can count the main resident of the White House as one of those fans, with President Obama making a declaration about where Curry ranks among players over the last two decades when it comes to entertaining the fans:

"“Steph Curry is the greatest shooter that I’ve ever seen…I am having more fun watching him than anybody since Michael Jordan.”"

President Obama, a Chicago resident who makes no secret about his allegiance toward the hometown Bulls, wouldn’t go as far as saying Curry was on Jordan’s level just yet:

"“Even Steph wouldn’t necessarily say he’s better than Jordan,” Obama said. “It’s rare where you get somebody who’s already at the pinnacle and then they take it a notch higher.”"

With nearly 20 percent of the season left to be played, Curry has already shattered his own record for three pointers made in the season (having missed three games in the process). There are some basketball fans who aren’t fans of Curry and the “Splash Brothers” style of ball played by the Warriors, but when you are 59-6 on the season, it must be working and there are plenty of people that agree with the Commander-In-Chief about this subject.
