Everyone remembers Florida Gulf Coast as “Dunk City” from the 2013 NCAA Tournament,, the 15-seed that made the Sweet Sixteen, but a lot might not realize that this is their first time back in the dance since that magical run took place. But make no mistake about it, the champions of the Atlantic Sun Conference would love for nothing more than to win on Tuesday and make it to Thursday so they could see if they can shock the nation once again.
Fairleigh Dickinson comes into this First Four match up as champions of the Northeast Conference and an 18-14 overall record. They finished second in conference during the regular season, but were able to navigate their way through the conference tournament, defeating regular season champion Wagner.
Now, these two teams will do battle on Tuesday for the right to make it to the First Round on Thursday, where the winner will be faced with the task of playing No. 1 seed North Carolina in the East.
