NCAA Tournament 2016: Picking the field by mascots
Picking the 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket by which team’s mascot would win in a fight
The 2016 NCAA Tournament is ready to get going with the beauty of March Madness ready to take its toll on fans and college basketball teams alike. Fans are furiously filling out their brackets, trying to make the right selections to either win their office pools or simply to just have the personal pride of being right about their NCAA Tournament picks.
However, not everyone approaches their NCAA Tournament bracket with a great deal of diligence in regards to researching all of the teams and who has the advantage on the hardwood. After all, there are octopi and other animals that make picks every year—and sometimes doing so with a remarkable amount of success.
So why not approach the bracket with a little more fun in mind. Rather than looking at every matchup and deciding which player is going to make a difference in a matchup in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, what if we looked at each matchup and decided who would advance solely based on which team’s mascot, if it were realized into an actual thing, would win in a fight?
Using the NBA as an example, if the Charlotte Hornets met up with the Memphis Grizzlies, the grizzly would easily squash a hornet in a fight if they met up in the wild. That’s the logic that we’re going to apply to making these picks.
Now that you have the concept, let’s tackle the bracket. This is how the the 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket would play out if each matchup was determined by which mascot would win in a fight.
