NFL Free Agency: Seahawks sign J’Marcus Webb to two-year deal

The Seattle Seahawks have inked offensive lineman J’Marcus Webb to a two-year deal after he last played for the Oakland Raiders.

Amid all the moves that have taken place during the 2016 NFL free agency period, there hasn’t been much talk or movement regarding the offensive line position. The “Big Uglies” up front rarely get much love even though they are the ones doing plenty of working keeping quarterbacks upright and running backs off the ground.

The Seattle Seahawks are making moves when it comes to keeping their front five in good shape by signing J’Marcus Webb, a six-year veteran who last played for the Oakland Raiders:

Webb was picked in the seventh round of the 2010 draft by the Chicago Bears, where he spent three seasons and is most famously remembered for being yelled at by quarterback Jay Cutler after allowing a sack during a 2012 game.

After being let go by the Bears, Webb has bounced around the league and the Seahawks will be the third team he has played for in the last four seasons if he makes their roster for 2016. Webb has played both guard and tackle during his career, so he can be a valuable piece to Seattle’s offensive line as someone who can play anywhere that he is needed.
