At a Dallas Stars game, a fan wore a shirt reminding everyone that Brett Hull is indeed a cheater.

It was the Montreal Screwjob of the NHL. Buffalo Sabres fans have been haunted by it for years. It all happened when Dallas Stars center Brett Hull scored the decisive goal in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals despite his foot being in the crease before the puck. There was a rule against players being in the crease before the puck back then but allegedly the league pulled the rule for the postseason. A fan hasn’t forgotten those shenanigans and wants to remind everyone that Hull is still a cheater.

The goal is still quite controversial and there are tons of fun conspiracy theories all over the internet about the goal. Here’s the goal in question.

While the NHL claims that Brett Hull possessed the puck before he entered the crease, the rule dictated that the player is never supposed to enter the crease before the puck does, even while in possession.

If you’re looking for proof that the NHL is fixed, other than the Edmonton Oilers getting undeserved first overall picks, Hull’s goal might be your best argument.
