The Baylor football program is hosting pro day on campus, and the Houston Texans’ Twitter account gave us a glimpse of what recruits see when walking into the facility.

There are two Big XII trophies on the left side of that picture which are legit. They won the conference in 2013 with an 8-1 record. Then in 2014 they technically won a Big XII title when they tied TCU (although they lost head-to-head). But league rules say Baylor was a co-champion, so we’ll give them their due credit as such.
Then there’s the giant College Football Playoff trophy to the right which takes up a door leaf all to itself.
Yeah, Baylor didn’t win that.
Baylor hasn’t even made it to the College Football Playoff. They were close to making the final four group in 2014, but they’ve never done so let alone win the playoff.
In fact, Baylor has zero claimed national titles. So why are they posting pictures of trophies they don’t have next to trophies they do have for all recruits and players to see?
We’ve actually seen this tactic before. In 2013, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze touted BCS trophies that neither he nor Ole Miss actually won.

Ole Miss does claim three national titles (although the NCAA only recognizes one), but they were in 1959, 1960 and 1962. The BCS started in 1998. Those trophies pictured are not displayed anywhere in Oxford … because they didn’t win them.
But Hugh Freeze just tweeted that (which his signature next to the trophies I might add) while Baylor is actually putting a picture of a trophy they don’t have in their athletic facility.
Why tell the truth when people will believe anything you tell them?
