High Value SF

Evan Turner-Boston Celtics (5,900): Turner had a disappointing game last night in Indy with just 18.5 fantasy points on six points, five rebounds, and five assists. He had posted over 31 fantasy points in three of his previous four games, and he should bounce back tonight at home against the Thunder in a high-scoring game. Although he didn’t last night, Turner will probably pick up some of the slack left by the injury to Jae Crowder, and I expect him to bounce back with a strong game tonight. His price is a little high which makes him risky, but he’s still a play I like tonight under 6K.

Matt Barnes-Memphis Grizzlies (5,600): Barnes continues to be inconsistent on offense for the Grizzlies although he did have a monster 26 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists on his way to 58.2 fantasy points last Friday against the Pelicans. He followed that up with a down game in Atlanta with just 13.2 fantasy points on six points, six rebounds, no assists, and four turnovers. On Monday, he only played 25 minutes in the Grizz’s blowout loss to Houston, but I think since tonight’s game is back in Memphis he should be able to get his game back on track.  He is volatile, as always, but I think he’ll have an “up” game against the Wolves tonight.  His ceiling is incredibly high and Memphis badly needs him to return to his form from their last home game which is when he went off against the Pelicans.

Evan Fournier-Orlando Magic (5,600): Fournier had 30 points last night in the Magic’s loss to Denver and helped carry one of my FanDuel Daily picks lineups to successfully cashing in most formats. He totaled 37.1 fantasy points giving him at least 29 fantasy points in four of his last five contests. Look for another strong game from Fournier as Orlando travels to Charlotte although last night’s 42 minutes could make fatigue a factor.

Jeff Green-Los Angeles Clippers (5,200): Green had 15 points and a pair of rebounds last night against the Spurs in a horrible matchup against “The Klaw.” Tonight, he should find a much easier go of things as he takes on the Rockets who have allowed the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF. He’s fitting in well in LA with at least 15 points in three of his last four games and three games with at least 29 fantasy points in his last six.  He’s a boom-or-bust play tonight, but I think tonight will be a pretty high-scoring contest making him a play I like even though I wish he cost less than 5K.∗∗∗

Nikola Mirotic-Chicago Bulls (5,100): Another option in the midrange at SF that I like based on matchup is Mirotic as the Bulls face the Wizards who have also had major problems limiting opposing SF.  Mirotic has at least 26 fantasy points in three of his last four and was able to play 32 minutes against the Raptors scoring 17 points to go with five boards, two assists, a block, and a steal. He is still getting back to 100% after his appendectomy, but his matchup and recent performance make him worth considering today.

Michael Beasley-Houston Rockets (3,900): Beasley has been playing well for Houston since joining them after his MVP season in China.  He played 27 minutes against the Grizzlies finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds for 30.8 fantasy points. He has scored in double-digits in three straight and is getting enough run to be the best cheap flier on the SF board as the Rockets face the Clippers tonight.
