The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a deal with free-agent offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum.

After watching other positions getting the big money and seeing those free agents signing with new teams, it’s now time for the offensive linemen to get their love…and their money. The latest member of that position to get a higher paycheck is offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum.

After spending his first four seasons as a member of the line for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Beachum is doing what plenty of people from the North do: moving to Florida and setting up shop in the Sunshine State, agreeing to a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars according to multiple sources:

The Texas native had a standout career at SMU before being drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2012 draft. He quickly made his way into the lineup, staying there for much of the next four seasons before going down with an Achilles injury in 2015 that ended his season early. With Pittsburgh signing Ryan Harris in free agency, the writing was on the wall for Beachum that his days in the Steel City were over.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have gone out and spent some serious money in the 2016 free agency period, including agreeing to deals with running back Chris Ivory and defensive lineman Malik Jackson. It continues a trend in recent seasons where the Jaguars are not bashful about opening their checkbooks during this period, though they haven’t had much on-field success even with the moves.
