President Obama picks Kansas to win NCAA Tournament (video)
By Jason Parker
In his final bracket in the White House, President Obama is going with the Kansas Jayhawks over North Carolina in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Of all the presidents in the history of the United States, there may not be one who is more of a sports fan than the current Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama. It seems as if there is a different team each week that is being honored at the White House for winning a championship (making me wonder where the President puts all those jerseys).
One tradition President Obama has had each year since taking office is filling out his bracket for the NCAA Tournament on ESPN with one of their basketball analysts. For this year’s bracket, the President is going chalk in two regions and going with the favorites in the other two, picking Kansas to beat North Carolina for this year’s national title:
As documented at the start of this video, President Obama hasn’t had any more success with picking his bracket than the rest of us across the world have been with our own. It’s the third time that he has gone with the Jayhawks, hoping that this is finally the time it comes true in the end.
Like other so-called experts of late, President Obama is going with Texas A&M, who won the SEC regular season title this year, to advance into the Final Four in their home state. The biggest surprise has to be that the President is sticking with his own home state school, the Hawai’i Warriors, to advance out of their first round matchup with Cal and pull off the classic early round upset.
