Arkansas-Little-Rock upset Purdue and celebrated with a March Madness mosh pit
Though there were plenty of upsets on the first day of March Madness and the 2016 NCAA Tournament, things got extra wild in the matchup between the No. 12 Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans and the No. 5 Purdue Boilermakers. The game went into one overtime after a furious comeback by the Trojans was capped off by a ridiculous three and then went into double-overtime just for good measure.
However, it was Arkansas-Little Rock that ultimately prevailed to pull off the upset and get a big win for the smaller program. They were obviously ecstatic about the win and they let it show once they got back to the locker room to celebrate as they started a mosh pit that even head coach Chris Beard got involved in:
"Mosh pit! #BracketBusted https://t.co/HXZ8ble8OP— NCAA March Madness (@marchmadness) March 17, 2016"
Honestly, that really just speaks to the power of adrenaline. These guys just played 50 minutes of basketball with the two extra periods and they’re back there celebrating like they are at a 90s punk rock show. That’s dedication to the celebration.
Arkansas-Little Rock deserves to let loose like so in a major way, though. Not only did they pull off the upset, but they did so after trailing by double-digits with less than four minutes remaining in regulation. That’s absolutely incredible in any game, much less in March Madness. Now they’ll be moving forward and hoping that this wasn’t their only mosh pit of the tournament.
