Brice Johnson stuffs FGCU shot, Isaiah Hicks throws it down soon after (Video)

Brice Johnson had an enormous block on FGCU before Isaiah Hicks came down and powered home a dunk

The North Carolina Tar Heels were only up one point on the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at halftime in their First Round matchup in March Madness, which was shocking considering the 1-16 matchup and the history between those two seeds in the First Round. However, North Carolina came out in the second half playing much more like the team everyone expects them to be, especially Brice Johnson and the Tar Heels frontcourt.

With the Heels having built up a 15-point lead in the opening eight minutes of the second half, FGCU was trying to get some points on the board to keep things relatively manageable. Johnson had other plans as he pinned the lay-up attempt against the backboard. On the ensuing North Carolina possession, Isaiah Hicks then continued to dominate for the Tar Heels as he powered through virtually the entire FGCU frontcourt for a monster jam:

That’s the type of play that you expected from North Carolina in the first half, but that they failed to deliver with. However, the Tar Heels certainly turned things out emphatically and in a hurry once the second half started. Now it’s all going to be about carrying the momentum from the second half forward in the tournament.
