Butler vs Texas Tech
The No. 8 vs. No. 9 matchup in the NCAA Tournament is always a tossup. The all-time record is 63-61, so it really is anyone’s guess when you go to predict this game in a bracket. The same will go for Thursday’s game on No. 8 Texas Tech vs. No. 9 Butler, which could create some early March Madness. The winner of this game will play whoever comes out of No. 1 Virginia vs. No. 16 Hampton.
Butler has had plenty of past NCAA Tournament success. Under former coach Brad Stevens, they made the National Championship Game in back to back years. Unfortunately, they fell both times. The paths to get there were miracle runs, though, as a No. 5 and No. 8 seed. While it’s a long shot, could the Bulldogs have another dose of magic in them to create March Madness?
Texas Tech is coming off a bump end to their season. They lost three of the last four games, including getting blown out by West Virginia and losing to the 12-21 TCU Horned Frogs in the most recent contest. To get by Butler, the Red Raiders certainly can’t lay an egg like they did to one of the worst teams in the Big 12 Conference.
