NCAA Tournament 2016: Wichita State vs Arizona live scoring tracker
A look at the live scoring results from the NCAA Tournament First Round game between Wichita State and Arizona.
The Wichita State Shockers were one of the eight teams that had to play in the First Four ahead of the NCAA Tournament First Round. On Tuesday night, the Shockers pulled off a big win against the Vanderbilt Commodores to set themselves up with a date with the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday.
The Wildcats once again had one of the strongest programs in the nation this season and they are coming off a tough loss in overtime in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament against the eventual champion Oregon Ducks.
When it looked like the Ducks were going to pull away, the Wildcats made an improbable effort to force overtime. Led by Gabe York, Ryan Anderson and Allonzo Trier, the Wildcats of plenty of players that can put the ball in the hoop. Despite the fact they are a No. 6 seed, there is an argument to be made that they are as strong as any higher seed.
However, it’s not going to be easy as they got a tough draw in the South Region. Wichita State is one of the most talented mid-major programs in the country and can get red hot on offense at any moment.
