Twitter blew up after No. 5 Purdue lost to No. 12 Arkansas-Little Rock in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
The beauty of March Madness is that any team can beat anyone at any given moments. Throughout the history of the NCAA Tournament, it’s almost always been a lock that a No. 12 seed will beat a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
On Thursday, the First Round belonged to the No. 12 seeds as Yale knocked off Baylor early in the day, followed by Arkansas-Little Rock pulling off the huge upset in double overtime over the Purdue Boilermakers. Coming into the game, Purdue was seen as the favorite to pull off the win and advance.
From the very beginning, Arkansas-Little Rock gave the Boilermakers a fight and at the end of regulation, it looked like Purdue was going to win, until Josh Hagins hit an improbable three to force overtime. From there, the two teams would play two thrilling overtime periods that ended in Purdue falling at the end.
With the Boilermakers having a poor day on the court and an early exit, Twitter blew up over just how poor Purdue played on the day.
