Updated 2016 NCAA Tournament Bracket after Baylor upset by Yale

A look at an updated 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket after Yale knocked off Baylor in the First Round

The Baylor Bears showed a ton of fight all season playing in the loaded Big 12. However, they seemingly weren’t prepared yet again for the rigors of the NCAA Tournament right out of the gate. On Thursday the No. 5 seed Bears met up with the No. 12 seed Yale Bulldogs in the First Round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament and it was Yale that started getting fitted for a slipper.

Led by point guard Makai Mason and forward Justin Sears, Yale was at the top of their game on Thursday as they made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1962. They were knocking down shots and playing efficiently, but they also showed an impressive defensive effort and an even more impressive effort in the rebounding department where they hung with the long, athletic frontcourt of Baylor.

The NCAA Tournament has really been the Kryptonite for Baylor in recent years as they were upset and sent packing in the First Round last year as well, thanks to the heroics of R.J. Hunter and Georgia State. There were no last-second shots here, though, as Yale was up on Baylor in the first half and held on—despite some attempts at Bears heroics—to get the upset victory.

After Baylor being upset by Yale, here’s a look at the updated 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket to see what’s next for the Bulldogs.

The road to becoming this year’s Cinderella story doesn’t get any easier as it’s the Duke Blue Devils awaiting them in the Second Round. With how Yale looked on Thursday, though, Makai Mason will have a chance to make a run.
