A look at the updated 2016 NCAA Tournament Bracket after Purdue was upset by Arkansas Little-Rock in the First Round
The Purdue Boilermakers have been ripe with talent all season, particularly in their frontcourt, but have struggled majorly with inconsistency. Still, they entered the 2016 NCAA Tournament as a No. 5 seed and hoping to get things going in March Madness. Unfortunately for them, the No. 12 seed Arkansas Little-Rock Trojans had other plans in mind.
Despite the fact that the Trojans trailed by 13 points with under four minutes to go in the second half, Little Rock never gave up and hopped on the back of their star guard in Josh Hagins. Hagins then hit a huge three with seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 70-70 and to ultimately force overtime.
The two teams then stayed neck-and-neck in the first overtime period to force a second overtime period where the Trojans were able to secure an early advantage. Missed free throws by Little Rock made them sweat, but Purdue ultimately couldn’t execute in the biggest moments of the game and now their run in the 2016 NCAA Tournament is over prematurely because of it.
After Purdue getting ousted, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 NCAA Tournament Bracket to see where things stand after the First Round games that have been played to this point.

Little Rock will now move on to play the Iowa State Cyclones and will undoubtedly be fishing for another huge upset to make sure their slipper fits just right.
