A NASCAR flagman was forced to move from his post during Auto Club 400 qualifying due to a swarm of bees.
There are a lot of things that can go wrong during a NASCAR event due to them being held outside. Most of the time bad weather can cause long delays and force spectators to seek shelter. On Friday during the Auto Club 400 qualifying session, NASCAR moved their flagman from his post due to a swarm of bees.
Partway through the XFINITY Series practice session Fox Sports’ cameras picked up on the bees buzzing around near the track and post where a flagman is stationed during an event. Partway through the Auto Club 400 qualifying NASCAR elected to move the flagman from the regular post to somewhere that was much safer.
Nope. So much nope.

The flagman has ... understandably ... abandoned his post at @ACSupdates.

The flagman has a very important job letting drivers now if a caution or red flag comes out during practice, qualifying, or an actual race. Without him the spotters wouldn’t be able to keep the drivers posted on what’s happening and there could be a serious wreck. Luckily crisis was adverted and no one was hurt by the harmless honey bees.
Rest easy. The bees are NOT bee-ing exterminated. They are bee-ing relocated! Qualifying is underway at @ACSupdates. https://t.co/78w8d9sgKO

Don’t worry, the bees were not harmed nor killed. A beekeeper was quickly on hand to take care of the problem and relocate the creatures to where they can continue their important job creating honey and pollinating other plants.
