There were some that thought the Spartans deserved a one seed, and you can definitely make the argument that they should have been. This amazing team led by Player of the Year candidate Denzel Valentine has really been spectacular this season, and they’d love for nothing more than to cap it all off with a national championship win. They definitely have the talent, and of course they have one of the best March coaches in history in Tom Izzo leading the way.
But, while they have their eye on the Final Four, they cannot overlook a Middle Tennessee team that is looking to become one of the Cinderella darlings of the field, and this is something they can definitely pull off. Knocking off Michigan State would certainly get everyone’s attention.
