A look at the live scoring results from the NCAA Tournament First Round game between Cincinnati and St. Joseph’s.
The fourth West game in the NCAA Tournament on Friday will feature the Cincinnati Bearcats and the St. Joseph’s Hawks. The winner of this game will face the winner of No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 16 seed on Sunday.
Cincinnati is coming off a 22-10 season with a third-place finish in the American Athletic Conference. They lost in a 4 OT thriller against the UConn Huskies during the conference tournament to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
The Bearcats are led by sophomore forward Gary Clark and senior forward Octavius Ellis. They each average at least 10 PPG and 7.7 rebounds per game (Clark averages 9). Leading scorer Troy Caupain is also coming off a huge game with 37 points and 10 rebounds against UConn.
St. Joseph’s is coming off a 27-7 season with a fourth-place finish in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They defeated George Washington, Dayton and VCU to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The Hawks are led by leading scorers Isaiah Miles and DeAndre Bembry. They combined for over 35 PPG of the 77 PPG that the team averaged in the regular season. Miles is coming off a game where he totaled 26 points and 12 rebounds against VCU.
