Players and teams from across the NFL are mourning the loss of Tray Walker, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens who died from injuries sustained in an accident Thursday.
The NFL community is hurting Friday after the news that Tray Walker, who just finished his rookie season as a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, died at a Miami, Florida hospital from injuries he sustained in an accident Thursday night.
Walker was reportedly riding on a dirt bike when he collided with a vehicle at an intersection in the city’s Liberty City neighborhood. Miami-Dade police responded and Walker was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition and friends said he was fighting for his life. Walker’s agent told reporters that the player passed away Friday afternoon.
Across social media, members of the NFL family sent their condolences upon hearing the news — including those who played with and against Walker during high school in Miami:

After a standout career at Miami Northwestern High School (where he was teammates with David as well as Teddy Bridgewater and Amari Cooper), Tray Walker played his college football at Texas Southern. He was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of last year’s draft, playing eight games with the team during his first year in the pros.
One day after being picked, Walker said he was dedicating the season to his late father, who died of a heart attack shortly before Walker was selected. He recorded two tackles on the season while spending most of his time contributing on special teams.
