A look at the updated 2016 March Madness Bracket after Stephen F. Austin’s upset of West Virginia
The West Virginia Mountaineers entered 2016 March Madness as a No. 3 seed and as a sneaky dark horse candidate to win it all. However, you have to get out of the First Round if you want to win a national championship and the No. 14 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks weren’t willing to let that happen in their matchup on Friday evening.
Thanks to a superstar type effort from senior guard Thomas Walkup, the Lumberjacks put forth one of the most impressive performances of March Madness to date. Austin, the chance that they would use that veteran experience and their two trips to the tournament in the past two seasons to their advantage and it certainly looked like they did. They embraced the bright lights of March Madness, were never scared of the big moment or need for a big play, and Walkup looked like the star of the tournament to this point in the process.
After this big upset, let’s take a look at the updated 2016 March Madness Bracket to see where things stand.
