Mo Alie-Cox for the VCU Rams rise up to the rim and threw it down with two hands thunderously on Oregon State
When looking at the March Madness First Round matchup between the No. 10 VCU Rams and the No. 7 Oregon State Beavers with high-flyers and big dunkers in mind, the first name that’s obviously going to come to mind is springy Oregon State point guard Gary Payton II. While that’s certainly fair, VCU forward Mo Alie-Cox showed that he should probably be considered in that regard as well.
In the midst of a big game from Alie-Cox as the Rams tried to maintain a lead over a higher-seeded VCU team, Alie-Cox got the ball right outside the lane on the right-hand side of the floor. He then made a strong drop step to the rim before rising over an Oregon State defender for a gigantic two-handed flush:
That’s a grown man move right there from the VCU big man. It doesn’t matter what kind of shot-blocker is there on a play like that; Mo Alie-Cox is throwing that down off that move 100 times out of 100.
Alie-Cox wasn’t just dunking for the Rams on Friday afternoon, though, as he was also putting forth one of the best scoring efforts of the afternoon, leading his team to a potential upset of a talented team out of the Pac-12.
