Now that Duke has advanced to the Sweet 16, who will they be playing to try and advance
One game that a lot of people were looking forward to on Saturday in the Second Round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament was the Duke Bulldogs taking on the Yale Bulldogs, and underdog team fresh off an upset in the First Round over No. 5 seed Baylor. While Duke had a scare in the second half, blowing a 27-point halftime lead, they were able to hold on behind the 29 points they got from Grayson Allen in the game.
So with that outcome, once again we are treated to the Blue Devils being a part of the Sweet 16, something that more or less happens pretty regularly anymore aside from a few early upsets. Now they will have a chance to reach another Elite Eight as they continue to defend their national title they won last year.
Now the question for a lot of people turns to who they will actually be playing. Well, we won’t know that answer until late Sunday evening, possibly early Monday morning on the East Coast.
Sunday night in the Second Round, the No. 1 seed in the West Region, Oregon, will take on No. 9 seed St. Joseph’s to see who will be advancing on to the Sweet 16.

Either one of those teams are capable of beating Duke, but if they had the choice they would probably not want to see Oregon. The Ducks are carrying a lot of momentum since their blowout win in the conference title game over Utah, and they match up pretty well with the Blue Devils.
But on the other hand, you know that with everyone clamoring for upsets in the tournament, a good portion of America would be happy to see St. Joseph’s pull off a minor stunner.
It will be one of those two teams, and we’ll know on Sunday night definitively who the opponent for Duke will be.
