High Value SG

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (5,300): With Reggie Jackson limited by bronchitis, KCP had another big game for Detroit last night pouring in 23 points to go with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals for 35.2 fantasy points against the Kings.  He has at last 32 fantasy points in three of his last four games and should be able to produce another good line tonight against the Nets who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing SG on the season and the most to opposing SG over their last five games. Caldwell-Pope has been inconsistent at times this season, but he has stepped up for the Pistons with at least 25 fantasy points in six of his last seven making him a solid play at this price especially in such a good matchup tonight. ∗

Tony Allen-Memphis Grizzlies (4,600): Allen has been playing big minutes for the Grizzlies due to all their injuries, but he hasn’t matched his monster game against the Cavs back on March 7. Since then, he has had at least 18 fantasy points in five of his six games but has only produced more than 25 once.  He is low-risk in that he will produce something tonight, but he doesn’t have the upside that KCP offers at just $700 more.

Danny Green-San Antonio Spurs (4,100): Green is an interesting play at just over 4K since when his shot is dropping he can easily post 20+ fantasy points. However, he isn’t one of the Spurs top options on offense and sometimes logs a lot of minutes without much production.  Tonight, against the Warriors, Green will be on the floor a ton as the Spurs try to match their athleticism, and Green is one of the better three-point shooters for San Antonio when he’s hitting as well.  Green isn’t a lock, but there is upside I like in the “late” game if you have to go cheap at SG.

Tim Hardaway Jr.-Atlanta Hawks (3,900): Hardaway came out of nowhere with a monster game on Thursday against the Nuggets.  He played 30 minutes in place of the injured Kent Bazemore and had a season-high 21 points to go with seven boards and four assist for 37.4 fantasy points. He had not had a game over 15 fantasy points in his last eight straight before that breakthrough, so its possible it was just a one-game outlier.  Hardaway could get another start tonight, and if he does he’ll be in a great matchup against the Rockets which will make him a high-risk, high-reward roll of the dice tonight at under 4K.
