Duke guard Grayson Allen doesn’t quite understand why everyone thinks he looks like Ted Cruz.

Duke Blue Devils guard Grayson Allen has been making a name for himself with his stellar play and his controversial trips this season. However, lately he’s been getting another claim to fame. People have realized that he resembles Republican Party presidential candidate hopeful Ted Cruz. Allen just doesn’t see it.

Quite naive of the sophomore guard to think that he doesn’t look like Cruz. Allen does look a fair bit like Ted Cruz, but a better doppelganger for the Duke guard might be Canadian comedian Colin Mochrie.

Grayson Allen might be getting attention for looking like Cruz but he should be getting attention because of his great sophomore season. Love him or hate him, Allen is talented. He averaged 21.6 points per game this season while playing 36.4 minutes per night for the Blue Devils. Allen also averages 4.6 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game while shooting over 40 percent from three point range this season. He has been clutch at the free throw line too with an 83.8 free throw percentage this season.

Allen helped the Blue Devils avoid being upset by Duke with 29 points and making five of his seven three point shots. Regardless of how you feel about Allen, he’s a villain. It’s his destiny to be the next J.J. Redick in the Blue Devils proud tradition of having white basketball players who are extremely fun to hate.
