No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers vs No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats
How much can the NCAA selection committee disrespect the Big Ten’s regular season champion? The Indiana Hoosiers finished the year 24-7, losing to the Michigan Wolverines in the in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. Indiana was then dropped from No. 10 in the country to not even earning one of the top 16-20 overall seeds.

Beating Chattanooga handily in the first round was no surprise, seeing as the Hoosiers’ offense was on once again. Yogi Ferrell, the conference’s runner-up for player of the year, is the facilitator of the offense, averaging 17.1 points and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 42 percent from long range. He’s going to need to be contained.
Kentucky, on the other hand, ended up winning the SEC Tournament and was given a No. 4 seed. The Wildcats felt a little slighted as well since the team they beat for the title, the Texas A&M Aggies, earned a No. 3 seed. Kentucky finished the regular season and conference tourney by winning 9-of-11 games.
Jamal Murray has led the freshman-heavy Wildcats this season with 20.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while draining 42 percent of his three-point shots. Tyler Ulis has been another elite point guard to play under John Calipari, putting up 17 points and 7.1 assists per game. The Wildcats will rely on these two to make a deep run.
