Kevin Spacey wears ‘Spacey’ sweatshirt at Florida Panthers game (Video)
It finally happened. Kevin Spacey attended a Florida Panthers game while wearing a sweatshirt with his face on it.
The Florida Panthers have had success this season as they look to advance into the playoffs for the first time since the 2011-2012 season. Beginning in December, the Panthers have rallied around a new tradition: wearing a sweatshirt with Kevin Spacey’s face on it. “Spacey in Space” has become a rallying cry for the upstart Panthers.
Spacey finally decided that he had to be a part of the fun. He attended a Panthers game as the Panthers took on the Red Wings. In typical Kevin Spacey fashion, he even wore a sweatshirt with his face on it.
"NO BLARNEY.HE’S HERE. #SpaceyInSpacehttps://t.co/yy2WmFD4z2— Florida Panthers (@FlaPanthers) March 20, 2016"
NHL teams should just give up with their rallying cries. Absolutely nothing can top Spacey wearing a sweatshirt with his own face on it. The Panthers have won. It’s a great rally cry and they even got Spacey to buy into it.
The meaning behind “Spacey in Space” has been debated, but it most likely has something to do with NASA’s main headquarters being located in Florida. Since the Panthers play in Florida, that makes “Spacey in Space” make at least some sense. Regardless of what it means, it’s awesome. The sweatshirts are now on sale at the BB&T Center.
