The Cleveland Browns met with Robert Griffin III this weekend, because why not?
When the Cleveland Browns began this offseason, it seemed like they might be so frustrated with their recent losing that they would actually do something about it.
Technically, it’s been 20 years of losing for the Browns and that’s just counting most of their time since being reinstated in 1999. Part of the problem for Cleveland has been the lack of a franchise quarterback, which is just the tip of the iceberg that is sinking their ship.
While there isn’t a rock star name out on the market or in the draft that can instantly turn the franchise around, that doesn’t mean there aren’t interesting names to consider. One of the most interesting — and plausible — names is Robert Griffin III.
According to Mike Garafolo from FOX Sports, the Browns and RGIII met this weekend in Cleveland.
Robert Griffin III met with the Browns today on an official visit, sources say. Now flying out of Cleveland but sounds like a good visit.

This doesn’t mean the Browns are for sure going land RGIII but it makes too much sense to at least not be considered. The Browns are a rancid dumpster fire of a franchise, but they’re not so incompetent that they wouldn’t consider RGIII.
He has a lot to prove after flaming out in Washington and the Browns are almost the perfect place for him to take the next step in his career. If he bounces back to 2012 form, then he’ll be credited with doing something over 20 years worth of quarterbacks haven’t been able to do and that’s win in Cleveland.
If he fails, then we’ll probably all blame Cleveland’s ineptitude then we will RGIII’s — so it’s a win-win no matter what way you slice it for the quarterback.
